From the 22nd of July until the 9th of August my father and I were traveling through India and Germany.  These pages show some of the pictures I took during my stay in India.  Most of our time was spent in Chennai (formerly known as Madras).  I did spend one day in Mumbai (Bombay), where my mother was from.  Also, I took a train trip to our family temple with my father and aunt and uncle.  Overall, the purpose of the trip was so that I could participate in religious ceremonies revolved around my late mother.  I wasn't able to take any pictures specific to the ceremonies, but I did manage to get some cool pictures from the trip.

The above picture with my father and me displays the traditional clothing we wore during the ceremonies.  The right pic is of my dad and his lifelong buddy, Sethu (sp?). Sethu Uncle is a very dear friend of our family.

The left picture of two of my aunts from father's side of the family.  The one sitting on the chair is the wife of my father's younger brother, and the one sitting on the floor is the widow of  my father's oldest brother.   During my childhood trips to India these two practically raised me and fed me.  On the right is a pic of me, Chundru (sp?), one of my many uncles, and my father.

These are some of my uncles and aunts at Sarathy's house.  Sarathy is a younger brother of my father.

When I was in Mumbai, I spent some time with my cousin, Chithra (sp?).  Here she is trying to teach her daughter, Kirtina (sp?), and son Arjun (green shirt) how to play Uno.
